Guest Design for Melissa Frances!

Hi.

This month I am Melissa Frances guest designer, which is an huge honor for me! I have always admired their products and loved to play with their amazing embellishments. This GDT spot has been a secret since the beginning of 2010, and finally I can share it with you all! *happy*

There will be several posts over maybe a week or two, and here are my first works for Melissa Frances, two "decorative hearts" which can be used as home decor;

I made these hearts of heart-shaped polystyrene. I teared strips of beautiful pattern paper from Melissa Frances, distressed the edges, and "glued" it on to the polystyrene hearts with lots of Gesso. Then wiped off the Gesso from the surface with wet wipers, before adding Ranger crackle paint (Picked Fence) to some of the "open spaces" between some of the paper strips. I also added just a bit embossing powder (brown) on top of the crackle paint before it dried to create a bit rusty look.

On the one with gold, I painted half of the heart in gold acrylic paint from Making Memories and gold crackle paint from Ranger, before adding paper strips on as described above.

I loved to create these hearts, especially with these amazing vintage products from Melissa Frances! They are actually very easy to create, and you can choose them in a style which fit your home! - please share with me if you do create some, will love to see pics! ;o)
