Another The Color Room layout

Welcome back everyone to another post about the wonderful and inspirational The Color Room!

Unfortunatley I were unable to do the palette and post for last week, palette #123. But please make sure you drop in to The Color Room and check out the palette and all the amazing works done for it here!

Now over to this weeks palette, palette #124! Here it is, and I hope you find in inspiring! ;O)

Through all these years as a scrapbooker, I've thought about to scrap a layout about my dad that passed away almost 17 years ago. He lost against cancer, and I miss him so much, every day.
For some reason I felt that I had to wait for the right moment to do it, and now it finally felt right to do a layout about him. And this palette was perfect to use to an old photo of my dad from his young ages that I recently came across in an old album.

Here is the layout I did, "I Miss You Dad";

And here I will share some close-ups of this layout;

This time I colored the white Shabby Chic Metal Treasure "Street Lamps" with a black ProMarker pen. The Shabby Chic Resin Window I kept white, but added a little white paper heart in the center of it before put it into the flower cluster with Corine flowers.

I used different stamping and medium techniques on this layout, including stamping with white LiquidApplique (which you can "puff up" with a heat gun), as the frame around "I Miss You" and the Donna Downey foam heart stamp around the photo of my dad.

I just love to hang the Junkyard Findings "Typo Bulbs" down in self-made "wires" on my layouts. The white resin heart, the cherub with a heart and the banner with a heart (under the Typo Zip") are from the new Shabby Chic Resin Treasures collection, "Angel Wings", "La-Cour" and "Cupid".
The small "dripping hearts" are just small hand drawn ones.

Here again you can see some white new resins, and the Junkyard Findings "Typo Zippers".  Around "Dad" in the titling I used a Prima "Amore" heart and in the bottom I used a new Journal card "Fairy Belle".

And please don't forget to join The Color Room for some inspiration, fun and a bit of challenge! ;O) Remember, in the end of the month I will pick a winner between all of you who join one or more of the palettes from this month who will be the lucky winner of this giveaway! Hope to see you in there!

Thank you so much for your time to drop by my blog for a visit, truly appreciate it. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
*hugs and smiles*Ingvild

Ingvild I don't know what to say as Beverly Sams has said what I was thinking. This is an outstanding tribute to your Dad. It has taken you a while but you have really done justice to such a special man in your life. I am going to send the link to a friend who is still getting to this stage after 21 years since her Mum passed.
Thank you for the inspiration - I have just purchased some junkyard findings and looking forward to creating with them.

Ingvild, what a lovely and loving tribute to your Dad. How sad that you lost him and at a relatively young age too. I recently lost my mum to cancer, I'm definitely not at the stage where I could get out photos and do a layout, but I hope that when I can that I can make something half as beautiful as this. Hugs Linda

I hope all is well with you since your posts have not been so regular. I wanted to stop in to tell you that I attempted to create a layout similar to your style and now have a deeper respect for you than ever before. Your clusters and designs are so amazing and very difficult to reproduce. I am still inspired and hope to be able to create a masterpiece as beautiful as your work one day. Keep bringing the beauty!
