Welcome back to another Chalk Edgers Week share.
This time from the very talented DT member Maiko Miwa who so kindly are sharing a amazing layout and some great ideas on how you can use the Chalk Edgers to add personal touches to your work!
Please see below for some great ideas for how to use the Chalk Edgers.
I Am Maron layout by Maiko Miwa
Above: A very beautiful layout in breathtaking colors and with tons of details to rest your eyes on. The whole design and the color palette chosen, is a perfect frame to build up on the very sweet photo of the cute cute dog.
Above: First you can make a template, by using a piece of paper and a paper punch as shown here. Any size of hole punch is ok. I used a 2.5 inch large circle punch. Note: It's the negative frame you will be using, the square around the punched hole, not the circle shape.
Above: Find the background pattern paper you wish to use for your project. Place an mask on top, as for example here a beautiful Prima mask. Then place the paper template you just made on top of the Prima mask. Then use a Chalk Edgers to add ink to the mask pattern inside of the paper template. Here I used a Vintage Pink Chalk Edgers. Then you can use a little extra sponge to fade the ink out a bit more. You can also add the Chalk Edgers ink directly to a piece of sponge and use the sponge to transfer the ink to the mask design.
Above: Here you can see the beautiful soft effect on the background after using Vintage Pink Chalk Edgers on a piece of sponge to transfer the ink over the masks.
Above: You can keep on going and do this same technique on several random places on the background paper to get the same design all over.
Above: Here I used Chalk Edgers in the color "Dry Sand" to ink a border stamp I used on a punched paper strip, to get more details to the punched strip before adding it to my layout. I also used the Chalk Edgers to add soft worn look to the edges of the paper strip.
Above: Here again I used "Dry Sand" Chalk Edgers to ink my circle stamp, and stamped directly on to the background paper. Look at the perfect effect of the stamp design the fluid of the Chalk Edgers ink gives!
Above: Here I am using the Chalk Edgers to add soft worn look to the paper edges. It's easy to control these little ink pads with the ergonomic grip (!) and to get the exact amount of ink and effect you wish to.
Above: On the background I also stamped with a clock stamp, and this time I used the green Chalk Edgers "Garden Grass" to add more colors to my design.
