Dear all blog friends.
Today I'm finally back to share a layout I made last Christmas for the great Paper Haus Magazine.
This is an old layout I haven't shared before, at least not here in my blog. But I have to admit that beside Paper Haus Magazine, I did share this layout on my Instagram profile a while ago, where I do sometimes share stuff earlier then in here. So if you are on Instagram, please look me up @ ingvildbolme to follow my art works and lots more from my daily life, including photography.
Anyway, here is the layout ;O)
My Chistmas Wish
Above: My daughter wished for a talking horse soft toy, and for Christmas two years ago she got the horse she wished for. I captured the magical moment and her happiness, perfect images for this Christmas themed layout filled with Prima flowers and Ingvild Bolme Shabby Chic Treasures resins and metals.
Above: Showing all the layers used on the layout, a combination of fussy cuts, metals, flowers, branches, resins, stamps and so on. There is never a limit for how much you can add together, a great mix just adds a interesting final look!
Photo Art on canvas
Lately I've also been busy trying to improve my paint and art skills, and have used lot of time testing out techniques and effects with all kinds of mediums.
Finally this summer I started on a art project I planned to do for years! In fact, even though my daughter is now soon 7 years old and I have taken thousand of pictures of her since she was 6 months old, I have never ever had a single photo yet on my wall! Simply because I were waiting for the perfect photo, a personal piece of art, something I had in mind, but just not sure how to make... Now after testing and testing, I found out it was about time to start on one of these projects, and the final result is the photo art painting below. It's completely painted over, several layers, not a single trace of the original photo used. There are layers, even the photo are in layers, to make different textures and effects. I might have discovered some "right" techniques, but there are still so much I wish to learn more about and to understand, but one step at the time... This project was just to test out techniques on one project to see the complete effects, but not artsy enough as I wish it to be in the future. I plan to add lots of more graphics and effects on my future photo arts, but I have to see if I dare to do more of that on my next one ;O)At least I finished this piece, and I am happy enough with it to be my first try of this kind. And, it's up on my wall!!! ;O)
*Looking Out* Photo Art on canvas
Above: This canvas is approx. 20-25 inches tall. The photo the art is based on, is a photo I took of my daughter in our cabin when she was 18 months old. She stands in the couch and looks out trough the window on all the snow out there. And there was A LOT of snow then, so she was a bit curious and also afraid. You can see that look in her face, almost a bit mystical, but for me there is something special with her look here.
Above: The photo art in progress. Here you can see a bit of the textures that I worked on.
